The new ITF rule 31 since 1. January 2014.
According to altered ITF regulations, the use of PAT (Player Analysis Technology) products has been possible since 1 January 2014 provided the products used have been approved by the ITF (International Tennis Federation).
The use of technical equipment to analyse player performance in tennis competitions was not possible until the end of 2013, because the then valid regulations did not allow such aids. In the summer of 2013, the ITF decided to introduce a new PAT regulation, which enables players to use PAT products in official competitions provided that the product used has been examined and approved by the ITF. One vital condition for use is that the PAT product continues to make coaching during the match impossible.
On 21 October 2013, KITRIS was the first company worldwide to receive ITF approval for its KITRIS KIT prototype.
